I hope the #openaccess #critlib #scholcomm and #librarytwitter crowds realize Gates and his foundation have no credibility.

Gates Open Research? Nah

Shailja Patel@shailjapatel

1) Oxford University promises to share intellectual property rights to vaccine.

2) Gates Foundation makes a grant to the research.

3) Gates pushes Oxford to partner with AstraZeneca.

4) Suddenly, AstraZeneca has exclusive rights to the vaccine.

#critcat #critlib update from a colleague on private (posted w/ permission). exciting stuff, hopefully there's an official release soon!

thanks again to everyone who helped me start to think through this, but it looks like it won't be necessary after all (for OCLC, at least)!

Hey #critcat & #critlib ! Last week I asked about existing conversations around changing the language used for 'master records' among library workers. It seems like there's interest but not a lot of action yet, so I have some questions I'd like to ask! (Thread)
